Dealing with Disappointment pt. 1

Although it is impossible to be 100% correct about everything about God, it is crucial, especially in difficult times to think correctly about God and His purpose in our lives.

If we believe that God exists to make us happy, then it will be impossible to feel God’s presence when difficult times are present. He will seemingly be “absent”, because He didn’t meet our expectations of what we thought He was or what “should have happened”. Disappointment is a crushing feeling that can literally rob us of ALL of our joy and make us feel like God is absent, impotent or even worse, a cruel detached being in the sky.

But that’s why its so important to think rightly of God and take God at His promise. God is with us, and God is for us, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t suffer, or have to endure periods of our life where we experience great pain. In those times, God is all the more with us, and we can put our entire weight on the promise that “He will never leave us nor forsake us”. In difficult times if you can’t cling on to anything else, cling to the fact that God is with you and He is present, and eventually you’ll see it come to pass.

Jordon you got it right. It is at the end of difficult times that God receive the glory and we only His agent during that time. When we have no doubt about His promises, it does make the load a little lighter. Let us continue to pray one for another.

Be still and know that I am God. These words are never more true than when you are going through things that you can’t guite understand. Be still and watch God at work. Each day He will reveal something new to you if you take your focus off your situation and focus on Him. Remember, HE HAS EVERY THING UNDER CONTROLL.
